I’m a big snacker and it is so hard to find snack options that have simple ingredients. This is why I love these energy balls. They are made up of nutrient dense ingredients, so I know exactly what I’m putting into my body. The flavors and ingredients are versatile and can be altered to your liking. Maybe you want more nuts or spices! You can adjust the recipe to whatever you’re feeling!

Superfood Protein Balls are my favorite recipe because it is packed with protein, fiber, and carbs, all good post work-out fuel. I love dark chocolate, so of course I had to add dark chocolate chips, but that is completely up to you!

My favorite protein powder is Orgain’s Protein Powder! It has 21 grams of protein in a serving, plus, there is so many flavors it’s so hard to choose. However, my go to is vanilla because it pairs well with everything!

Ingredients You Need & How They Benefit Our Bodies

Oats

Oats are one of the healthiest grains we can consume. It is a good source of carbs and contain many B vitamins, to help fuel energy. The fiber content is good for gut health and can help decrease cholesterol.

Peanut Butter

Peanut Butter is a great source of protein and healthy fats. Since most peanut butters have added sugar and preservatives, the best option is to buy natural peanut butter. It will stay fresher when stored in the fridge.

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are extremely nutritious and loaded with antioxidants. They also contain many important bone nutrients including calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium. They contain a good amount of protein and healthy fats. Not to mention, chia seeds also look amazing aesthetically and pair well with multiple foods.

Honey

Honey contains antioxidants, minerals, and enzymes. It is also shown that honey can soothe coughs, sore throats and treat wounds. Plus, it is super easy to add honey in your diet, and pairs well with yogurt, oats, baking, etc.

Protein Powder

Protein powder is an option to help replenish protein reserves and aide in muscle recovery. Powders are available in animal-based options such as whey and egg white, as well as non-animal options such as pea protein- which is an option for vegetarians.

Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate, containing 70% of cacao, is a powerful source of antioxidants. Research has also shown that consuming dark chocolate can improve cardiovascular health and lower blood pressure.

Coconut

Coconut is nutritious and unlike other fruits, coconut is mostly fat, versus carbs. It has fiber, potassium, and a small amount of B vitamins.
