I’m not saying don’t have butter toast because if you love it have it! However, if you want to spice up your toast and create a delicious healthy breakfast, you need to try these recipes!
Whether you are a sweet or savory person, there’s a recipe for you! All these toast combinations are balanced, healthy, and tasty. Plus, there are vegan and vegetarians options as well! If you follow a gluten free diet just use gluten free bread!
BREAKFAST TOAST is one of my favorite breakfast recipes! It is packed with healthy ingredients and is SO versatile, so if you want a sweet breakfast you can make a sweet toast or vise versa. It’s also great to pair with other breakfast items or just eat as a quick snack.
These 5 healthy breakfast toast recipes take about 5 minutes to make, so it’s perfect for rushed morning. It also pairs well with fruit & veggies!
My favorite Bread to use is Dave’s Killer Bread, and it’s sold in most grocery stores. I also love Ezekiel 4:9 bread as well, which is found in the freezer section. These breads contain nourishing ingredients and are barely processed. Sourdough bread is also amazing!
You can also make these recipes on rice cakes. Even though there isn’t much nutritional value to rice cakes, they are great for a small healthy snack. I also love to eat rice cake combinations before a workout since it is light on my stomach.

1. Peanut Butter Banana Toast
Creamy peanut butter topped with banana and your favorite toppings, you can’t go wrong with this toast! If you love peanut butter then this toast is definitely for you! You can add any toppings, but my favorites are dark chocolate and coconut shreds!
This toast is vegan, vegetarian, and high protein (peanut butter and bread combined make a complete protein). It can also be gluten free if you use gluten free bread!

It is delicious, filling, and a great source of healthy omega 3 fatty acids. Plus, adding tomato creates amazing flavor.
I also love to add eggs for a protein source. My favorite kind of eggs are over easy, but you can cook them any way you want! Some great options are scrambled, hardboiled, & sunny side up.
This toast is vegetarian, but can be vegan if you don’t add the egg. If you are gluten free just use gluten free bread!
3. Strawberry Greek Yogurt Toast

Crispy Toast topped with cream cheese, cucumber, avocado slices, feta cheese, and drizzled with balsamic vinegar. This Greek inspired toast is perfect for a breakfast, brunch or lunch. It is absolutely delicious and perfect if your craving something salty.
I add cream cheese for a healthy fats source as well as avocados for the greek feel. Cucumber also pairs great with cream cheese, but you can always add tomato instead. Of course, I had to add feta (it’s one of my favorite cheeses), but goat and blue cheese are also good options. Then, the signature ingredient is balsamic vinegar, it adds so much flavor to the toast! You can also use Trader Joe’s Balsamic Glaze which is one of my favorites!
I also love to add eggs on the side for an extra source of protein & healthy fats! Some great options are scrambled, hard boiled, over easy, whatever you like!
5. Almond Butter, Banana & Blueberry Toast
Creamy almond butter topped with banana, blueberries, chia seeds, cinnamon and drizzled with honey. This toast will elevate your breakfast and give you fuel throughout your morning. It is completely balanced and filled with carbs, healthy fats, and protein.
I love to switch between almond butter and peanut butter on bread. They both are delicious, especially with fruit on top! It’s also great to add to toast because it makes a complete source of protein.
Chia seeds and hemp seeds are also great to add on top. Not only are they aesthetic, but they add healthy fats and a small amount of protein.
