I don’t think I’ve ever had brownies as delicious as this recipe, and the best part is they’re healthy! They contain no refined sugars, and are made with healthier alternatives to help you feel good about yourselves! I think these brownies are proof that healthy desserts can be tasty!

This brownie recipe is also filled with peanut butter, so if you love peanut butter this recipe is for you! It’s also has a rich chocolatey taste from the cacao powder. Peanut butter and chocolate together has to be the best combo!

I also have a huge sweet tooth, but hate how I feel after eating sugary desserts. So, these healthy brownies are perfect for solving that! Now, I’m able to reach my fitness goals, while enjoying a tasty treat.

You can also make these vegan by using flax eggs (ground flax seeds + water). This recipe contains 2 eggs, which would be 2 tbsp of ground flax seeds mixed with 6 tbsp of water.

Coconut Sugar- Almost identical to regular cane sugar, but contains nutrients such as iron, zinc, calcium, and potassium. It also can help low blood sugar because the body relies on glucose for energy.

Peanut Butter- A great source of protein and healthy fats. It’a also loaded with vitamins and minerals, which are essential for the body. Additionally, it is high in fiber which aids better digestion. Since, most peanut butters have added ingredients like sugar or oil, the best option is to buy it with peanuts only.

Cacao Powder- Cacao beans processed at a low temperature and milled become cacao. They can be bitter in flavor compared to cocoa powder. It contains potassium and magnesium as well as 50mg caffeine in 2 TB- keep that in mind if caffeine sensitive.

Eggs- A complete protein containing 8 grams protein per egg, similar to the amount of protein in 1 ounce of meat. Eggs are high in selenium, choline, and Vitamins B-12 and B-7. Whole eggs can be substituted with 3 egg whites 1/4 cup egg substitute.

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine all ingredients except dark chocolate chips into a medium bowl.
  3. Add in dark chocolate chips and mix.
  4. Pour batter on a medium size pan with parchment paper.
  5. Cook for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Let cool for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Serve & enjoy!

Notes

  • If you want very thick brownies you can use a smaller pan, but it usually takes about 40-45 to fully cook!
  • You can top the brownies with peanut butter, chocolate chips, nuts, or coconut flakes.
  • If you aren’t a fan of peanut butter you can use any nut butter instead!
  • You can make these brownies vegan by using flax eggs instead of eggs.
  • Make sure to use parchment paper or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
